In this 100-year-old home in the Brookside, Kansas City neighborhood had all the charm of an older house: historic windows, original wood floors, rich character. But the kitchen wasn’t working. The floor joists had sagged, the layout was awkward, and it lacked modern functionality.

For our kitchen remodel in Brookside, we knew we first had to rebuild and re-level the floor before anything else. Our designers worked closely with the home owner to reimagine their space and ensure we kept the beautiful brookside charm in the kitchen all while bringing it up to date with timeless finishes.

For this remodel, every finish was chosen to create a modern yet warm feel with high-end touches throughout.
Stone: We chose Cashmere Macabus for the island and full-height backsplash — a soft, timeless stone that complements the home’s history while giving a fresh feel.
Gold accents & fixtures: Selected gold-tone hardware, faucet, lighting and trim to add warmth and classic luxury without being over-the-top.
Panel-ready appliances & thoughtful amenities: To support the clean aesthetic and high-function we wanted, we installed panel-ready appliances, an appliance garage, deep drawers and organized hidden storage.
Custom hood & millwork: Instead of a generic stainless hood, we designed a custom hood scaled to the home’s proportions. Cabinet profiles and millwork were chosen to reference the home’s original character while supporting our modern remodel.

The construction team had their work cut out for them with this project! They started with demo and removal of sagging joists. We installed new joists and sub-floor, with precise leveling to support stone, cabinetry and appliances. Then came the custom cabinetry and millwork installation. Final fixtures and finishes were the gold-tone hardware, lighting, faucet, custom hood mounted, trim and moldings aligned. Through this process we treated the kitchen as the heart of the home. We pride ourselves on being one of the “best home remodeler in Kansas City” by marrying structure, design and execution.
